Steadicopter’s family of Black Eagle helicopter UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) has received a permit to conduct BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) operations in Israel. The Black Eagle rotary UAVs are already used within Israel for a variety of civilian and defense applications, and this permit will unlock extended range and duration missions.

The Black Eagle family includes the Black Eagle 50, an advanced unmanned helicopter designed to provide situational awareness and ISTAR (intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance) capabilities in both the land and maritime domains. The Black Eagle 25E and 50E are electrically-powered variants of the Black Eagle 50, designed to provide situational awareness for a wide variety of military, security and civilian applications.

Noam Lidor, VP of Marketing at Steadicopter, commented: “Although Israel is extremely small, the country includes almost every type of geographic landscape – from plush forests and mountainous humid areas in the north to a dry desert in the south. As Israel’s leading rotary UAS manufacturer, we designed the Black Eagle family of products to cope with the vast range of terrain and weather conditions, especially at low altitudes and during long-endurance hovering. The newly acquired BVLOS permit enables us to fully implement the RUAS’ unique capabilities in flying low and slow or high and far to fulfill all our clients’ mission requirements.”
