Founding Member of DJI’s Enterprise Business to Bring Data-Based Intelligence to the Drone Industry

August 3, 2020 – DroneAnalyst, an independent drone research, content and advisory services firm, today welcomes David Benowitz as Head of Research, responsible for expanding its research product offerings with the mission of providing increased transparency to the state of the maturing commercial drone industry.

My experience in helping establish and grow DJI’s enterprise business since 2016 provided me with a unique vantage point into the drone industry. I am excited for the opportunity to utilize this experience to support the broader industry as a whole, with the goal of seeing the full potential of this technology and ecosystem realized.

David Benowitz, DroneAnalyst Head of Research

Benowitz joins DroneAnalyst from a 4-year tenure at DJI, the world’s leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, where he served as Associate Director of Marketing Communications. During his time at the company, Benowitz contributed as a founding member of DJI Enterprise, leading the development of its enterprise marketing and research programs, as well as DJI AirWorks, the company’s annual commercial drone conference.

With Benowitz now at the helm of DroneAnalyst’s research program, the industry can expect the launch of its 2020 Annual Market Survey in September, and the continued expansion of its research product and advisory services in the coming years.

Since its founding in 2016, DroneAnalyst has always emphasized a realistic, fact-based approach to its research. DroneAnalyst will continue this focus, whether it be through its annual market sector report, advisory services or social media presence.

With DroneAnalyst, we have always emphasized a realistic view of the industry and its potential. Through my work with David while he was at DJI and discussions since, I am happy to know the efforts and traditions of DroneAnalyst will continue.

Colin Snow, DroneAnalyst Founder

While Snow has retired, he remains engaged with the DroneAnalyst team in an advisory capacity.

Benowitz is joined by DroneAnalyst CTO Layne Van Rhijn, who manages a diverse portfolio of tech and photography websites. Layne has also been extensively involved in the drone industry since 2010, working on custom projects for clients such as Defence Research & Development Canada, Thompson Rivers University, Bayer Crop Science, JD Irving and others.
