Real-time Robotics (RtR) will be introducing the HERA drone, a heavy lift backpackable multirotor UAV, at Gitex Global 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Center from 10th October to 14th October 2022.
Small enough to fit in a backpack the HERA drone is powerful enough to lift 33-lb (15kg) payloads. A versatile ‘Swiss Army knife drone’ that can fold down to backpackable dimensions; 22″x 13.7”x 9″ (55cm x 34cm x 22cm), the HERA can be deployed in under a minute and is capable of carrying four gimballed payloads mounted simultaneously, each with 360-degree field-of-view (FOV).
Using Nvidia SOM’s up to 105 TOPS the HERA can run sophisticated AI algorithms at the edge, for all four payloads simultaneously, efficiently achieving four missions in one flight.
RTK and PPK ready the HERA is designed to fly in low visibility and harsh conditions and can carry and operate a variety of cameras and payloads including:
- VianSight dual camera, including Sony FCB-EV9500 and FLIR Boson 640×512
- M61 (Sony A7R4) on Gremsy gimbal (total weight: 1.9 lb/900 grams)
- Phase One P3
- Velodyne Lidar Puck
- RIEGL LiDARs
- Arrowing multispectral A7R4
- Micasense cameras
- Corona cameras
- Loud speakers, lighting, SAR kits, etc.
As a tethered drone solution HERA is capable of 360 degree, spherical surveillance, covering both ground and air due to the ability to mount and operate 4 gimballed cameras, quadrupling the surveillance capability. This unique ability also enables the HERA to track two diverging targets simultaneously and independently.
Applications include inspection, mapping, geospatial, defense, and search and rescue.
