After two years of extensive development, Israeli-based aerostat company RT LTA Systems has launched a new capability that will allow all its SkyStar330 aerostat systems to be remotely controlled.

As part of this new development, RT LTA added multiple sensors and features to enable users to monitor flight conditions and to enable safe operation.

This new capability fulfils the company’s goal of better protection for operators, allowing users to be away from the aerostat while it is in deployment, as well as reducing costs of operation.

The SkyStar aerostats are a self-contained, versatile, and easily transportable tactical systems designed for defense, border security, HLS and public safety missions. Offering availability of over 85% in any given area, the SkyStar systems already accumulated more than 4,000,000 operational hours worldwide.

The company will present its SkyStar family of aerostats, including the SkyStar330, at Eurosatory 2022, 13-17 June, Hall 5B, Allee D, Stand 330.

“We are happy to expose our new development to the SkyStar330 system, this system which is carrying up to 50kg payload is used by our most advanced client and most of them deploy the systems in places where you need max protection to operational teams,” said Rami Shmueli, RT CEO. “This feature will allow the users to fly the system even if the control room is on the other side of the world. This new capability is the first step towards fully autonomous system that is already in development process and will be available to clients in the near future.

“I believe that this is a real game changer that will allow better safer and most cost-effective operation of the systems. Looking at the upcoming Olympic games in Paris 2024 I am happy to expose this new capability in Paris at Eurosatory.”
