Promotion Provides a Major Discount on Professional-Grade Drones Through the End of 2024
Teledyne FLIR, a part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, has announced a limited-time promotion for first responders on its SIRAS™ drone. The promotion offers a 28 percent discount, bringing the price of the SIRAS down to $6,995. The offer is available until the end of 2024 and is open to police, fire, and search and rescue agencies. Each agency can purchase one unit at this reduced price.
Designed for Public Safety and Security
SIRAS drones are built with public safety missions in mind. They provide high performance while maintaining affordability, making them suitable for firefighting, search and rescue, and law enforcement operations. The drone features a quick-connect dual radiometric thermal and visible camera payload, enabling users to capture both thermal and visible imagery in real time.
Mike Walters, Vice President of Product Management at Teledyne FLIR, stated, “First responders are investing in SIRAS. In recognition of their mission and budget restraints, we want to support the community with this promotion that runs through National First Responders Day and beyond.” Walters added, “Especially for those organizations seeking an alternative to drones originating from countries of concern. Teledyne FLIR is proud to offer those on the frontlines a drone that makes their missions swift, safe, and secure.”
“We find that when pilots get to fly SIRAS they love it – this promotion lets every public safety agency in the country get their hands on SIRAS and see how they like it,” said Kelly Brodbeck, Product Manager of UAS. “We’re convinced they will.”
Key Features of the SIRAS Drone
The SIRAS drone is equipped with several features that enhance its functionality in critical missions. It is rated IP-54 for durability and can fly for over 30 minutes on a single charge. The drone also includes radar-based front collision avoidance to help navigate challenging environments. With its compact size and portability, SIRAS is easy to transport in a backpack, making it ideal for field operations.
The drone’s payload, the Vue® TV128, is equipped with a 16MP visible camera that offers 128x zoom, providing users with detailed images from a distance. Additionally, the integrated 640×512 pixel radiometric Boson® thermal camera delivers high-quality thermal imagery, 5x digital zoom, and precise temperature measurement for every pixel in the frame.
Focus on Cybersecurity
One of the key benefits of the SIRAS drone is its focus on data security. The drone stores all images and video footage directly on an onboard SD card, eliminating the need for cloud connectivity. This design reduces the risk of data breaches or unauthorized access to mission-critical information. Additionally, drone operators are not required to create online profiles, further streamlining operations and minimizing cybersecurity risks.
The drone is manufactured in Taiwan, while the camera payload is produced at Teledyne FLIR’s facility in Goleta, California.
Availability and Additional Information
The SIRAS drone is available through Teledyne FLIR’s authorized dealers in the United States. For more details on the SIRAS promotion and its features, visit www.flir.com/SIRAS.
