UAVOS has upgraded its UAV-70 and UAV-85 four-stroke gasoline engines for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), in order to provide greater reliability and efficiency as well as longer engine lifespan.

Based on technology from Fiala Prop, the engines feature state-of-the-art air cooling and twin-nozzle fuel injection technology, as well as brushless starter-generators. Microprocessor-controlled ignition provides east starting and smooth running throughout the entire range of engine speeds. UAVOS’s injection system can be precisely fine-tuned with a lambda probe, depending on operating conditions.

The engines have low fuel consumption and a flight ceiling of around 9800 ft (3000 m) above sea level, making them ideal for a range of UAS applications. They have been thoroughly tested from sea level to 8200 ft (2500 m) altitude, and at temperatures ranging from -31°F to +122°F (-35°C to +50 °C). The modified engines have already been successfully integrated into UAVOS’s unmanned helicopters.

Aliaksei Stratsilatau, CEO and Lead Developer at UAVOS, commented: “UAVOS is excited to work with the Czech company Fiala Prop to promote its technologies. The cooperation with the company is a real opportunity to develop new capabilities and to pursue new business opportunities. This collaboration will be beneficial both to UAVOS and Fiala Prop.”
