Founded in 2014 in Australia, DroneShield is an Australian and US-based company specializing in counter drone technology.  Their product suite runs from detection capability through mitigation.  Their flagship products include the DroneSentry detection technology and the handheld DroneGun series, which allow personnel to neutralize drone threats.  DroneShield uses non-kinetic jamming technology to neutralize drones.

Regulations in the U.S. prevent most civil operators from interfering with drone operations: but in the government and military space, counter UAS tech has become a critical tool.  Counter drone technology is now considered essential on the battlefield and in civil life, protecting high profile people and events.

DroneShield has announced that it has received a $33 million order for DroneShield equipment and multi-year services from a U.S. Government agency. The company is set to receive full payment for the order before the end of  the year. 2023 is expected to be another record year for DroneShield, surpassing last year’s record by a wide margin.

“We’re honored to receive this award and support this customer. This award is a result of their trust in DroneShield and our solutions, and reflects our commitment to their mission,” said DroneShield’s U.S. CEO, Matt McCrann. “We’re proud of our team’s efforts, the increasing value we’ve delivered to our customers worldwide, and are excited about continuing to support and grow the business as we look towards 2024 and beyond.”

This new order comes after a $9.9 million order announced earlier in the month placed by another customer among the Five Eyes community. DroneShield’s order backlog is currently at a record $62 million, with a pipeline of over $200 million across over 80 opportunities.
